So we're having a meeting at work where people have flown in from The Netherlands (Venlo & Maastricht.. near WW as I recall) Ireland, France, China and others. I'm trying to set them up on wifi and I can't type the complex passphrase correctly to save my life. Then someone brings me a French laptop. I can't find \ to enter UNC paths because I can't find \ anywhere.
Look, try to find \ on the top image... it's not there! It's in yet another layer up on the 8 key like the lower image below.
I don't mind an ISO enter key so much but the French layout was very challenging to use. If I was a systems admin in France I'd have to switch to another layout. But I guess since I'd be on strike most of the time, it would be less bothersome.

Check this guide:
Ultimate Keyboard Guide - Matador
You need to press the right alt key (or Alt Gr) and 8.

It's the same in Germany. I suppose using a smarter layout makes more sense if you need to place more characters. ;)

Thanks, I need to brush up on alt layouts before these kinds of meetings.
