How does keyboard enthusiasm make one's life more difficult

You know what makes me a geek? The fact that I just have to go a bit deeper when it comes to everyday things. Knowledge brings pain. For example, until a year ago, I was perfectly happy with buying light bulbs from local markets. Then a friend of mine started explaining about these day light bulbs, white light bulbs and kelvins and lumens etc. Oh crap... I bought one or two to try it out and man those things were awesome. I was hooked. Suddenly, in the midst of all the darkness, our house wasn't yellow anymore but it was bright, white, blueish... Greatness! One time I actually thought that we had a door open when our hallway was looking like it was all bright and sunny. Those things actually work. Now, I must go through every single type of a bulb, read through their details about kelvins and lumens and whatnot before I can even consider buying a damn bulb... And most of the time I can't find anything suitable from super markets. And of course, I find myself trying to convert everyone to switch into those day light bulbs :D

The exact same thing happened with keyboards. Now, for example, whenever I go to any shop, I find myself checking out their POS keyboards just out of curiosity.. When I play with my kids and their Legos, I find myself thinking "it wouldn't take much to convert a 2x2 block to a keycap... And man those would be thick..." All the rubber domes give you pain and makes you wanna vomit... You know what I'm saying?

I'm 110% certain that you guys have the exact same issues... Right?? You must! Please share your thoughts :)

No idea what you're talking about

As a matter of fact, I'm still wondering why my beloved offered me a chocolate keyboard for my birthday:

Instead of "It's not even a mechanical one" I first wanted to post "It's a crappy rubber dome"
but I was afraid you would pick up the word "rubber" and post sexist comments

Edit: ... and post off-topic sexist comments

My wife bought me a wallet that looks like a NES controller as a birthday present. Total awesomeness. Sometimes I wonder how she still puts up with me :D
