Anyone know about Wey HK2000B Keyboards

Hi
Seems like all the brains have migrated so I hope you don't mind me dropping in.
Did a deal on some used, Wey Modular HK2000B keyboards this week. Seems to be whites or clears from the photo I was sent. They are clever babies from what I hear, but not sure of the day to day uses, as they are designed for bankers.
Any ideas??

Welcome to DT whoever you are.
Oh wait, do you sell beer coasters?
Anyway looks like clears to me.
No peg on the slider.

I recommend Bruce to everyone here when you need to save your nice wood finish on the table and want to impress the ladies.

There were a few sold on ebay and they were fitted with clears...it is a safe bet to assume these are the same.
As for actual use...you will not be able to use one of the boards without a full conversion to a teensy or other controller, as the boards are designed to be used with a proprietary splitter/controller box...the board itself is not PC compatible.

So it's good news... And bad news...
Thanks

Nice Avatar!
See it PAYS to ask questions at DT (perhaps before the purchase would have been better.....)

I'm sure we'll find a use for them. I had a visit from the Wey Tech rep some time ago, might see if they can use them, I know they maintain them on contract for their banking clients so some spares may be useful. We do ocassionally get asked for them through the trade as well.

Glad you can find homes for them.
These pics show the little white peg on the WHITE Cherry MX (the one on the left).
And how the CLEAR Cherry MX does not.

I am assuming that would be MX White rev2 (vintage type B)?
Code: Select all
* Vintage Type A: 80cN, translucent white stem, black click-slider - 1987-?
* Vintage Type B: 50cN, translucent white stem, translucent white click-slider. 1989-?
* Modern: 80cN, white stem, black-slider - 2007-2012+?
Since then it would fit my 'wtf is this shit cherry #2' theorem..

I agree, I've never seen a clear stem Cherry MX nor seen them listed.
No mention of any boxes when we did the deal
One of the main reasons traders and bankers like these is that they allow them to double up on Bloomberg systems. saves a fortune.

aaactually, scratch my question; it's quite clear.
both vintage types are clicky (and have translucent stems), so either would satisfy my theorema on stem markings.

So , on arrival, it turns out we have three types of WEY Tech keyboard.
Some double shots and the coloured keys are lasered. No Cabling or Boxes.

I don't think they are on boards, probably on a keyringhanger or something that's reachable 24/7
