Does anyone have autocad, inventor, pdf..... plans/dimensions for key caps? Outside dimensions aren't super important right now (they might later), I'm more interested in the stem and it's placement.

Why are you asking?

All the dimensions of a key cap would be helpful. Inside, outside, cruciform whatever I can get. Tollerance would also be pretty helpful.

Why? I'm thinking of getting/buying/building a CNC router/mill and custom caps would be pretty tight to mill out.

Mills small enough to cut the + in the stem are expensive and break often. A rule of thumb is that the length of the tool should not exceed 4*the diameter. I have some step-files for cnc if you want them later on.

Other piece of trivia is the Cherry MX SLIDER cruciform is thicker in the horizontal. In other words when pulling keys wiggle Left/Right for maximum efficiency. Wiggle. Wiggle. Wiggle.

I was thinking of milling stabilized wood, which I've heard is very similar to milling plastic. As for milling the stem, I was thinking many light passes at a slowish feed rate.
