I saw on the twitter feed for Kevin Rose that Ripster was bringing too much traffic to the servers so he actually had his ISP drop him

I heard he was a guest on that show Intervention and had to promise to only use cheap Dell keyboards from now on

I don't like the sound of that. It would imply aliens were spamming deskthority. This is not good news.

It just shows that the aliens were able to locate the humanity's intelligence forefront.

I like Ripster.
Hes obvious trolls became so lame, they where actually funny.
He also does know lots about keyboards and did contribute a lot to GH (gl on wiki).

I kind of miss Ripster! For better or for worse, this place is quieter without him.

It's funny how you can't even talk about it at geekhack without some person closing your thread without an answer.
Why would you not let people talk about one of the most known people of your forum and why you decided to ban said person?

Wasn't he banned at gh for deleting certain people's wiki contributions or something like that?

No. As far as I know that was that R00tworm guy who deleted the wiki and all attachments etc.

No need to blush, it's a widespread, and fostered, assumption!
But ripster, no, he only (!) deleted all of harrison's posts.

The Asian invasion killed him. He always warned about too many Asians in the forum!

I don't miss ripster.
It was a real pain to browse the forum and always stumble upon his postings with not much more content than off-topic pictures, meaningless videos and grotesque self-praise.
No question he contributed an awful lot to "keyboard science" and to spreading it. A pity he didn't stick to that.

You do realize that you could have just added him to your foes list right?
Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible. Personal messages from foes are still permitted. Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators.
Why not let him back on, but make him a "foe" by default? Everyone who
wants to see his posts will remove him from their foe list, while everyone else won't have to see anything he posts. Sound good?

No because you will still have to see posts from everyone else responding to him which will just result in the thread being derailed.
