No. They are both flat.

Some earlier versions of the Model M tester might have both screws tightened too strong, maybe that's where a curve comes from. You could try loosening them.

I don't think so. I thought of doing that, but I finally decided to use model F barrels.

But if you find a way of doing so, I would really like to know how you did it!
