If you're interested you should be quick, iirc original DSA Dolch Replica GB will only run until ~20. June.

Maybe we should forbid them to use 6.25 and 7 units SA-family space bars.

Maybe it has to do with druger(ridiculous name(unlike mine)) being a comercial seller.

Dolch colours are just gorgeous, of course. Are they a must-grab-NOW kind of deal, or will my preferred PBT offer something similar?

I guess it's the difference between double shot and whatever the PBT GB will be: dyesub?

if you like the color scheme, the Sindarin set will be PBT and we are going to offer blanks as well. With PBT dyesub, yes. We are also discussing a beige set in PBT... but we can't find anyone brave enough to take care of the GB :)

Dolch-scheme is old!

Nowadays we have Space-Cadet-scheme!

Tell us more of your Space Cadet scheme, 7bit!

As for the Sindarin set, I like the glyphs but those colours look like an Elven OLPC!

Kit 3 looks quite appealing.
Image

Am I right to think it would cover my slightly unorthodox 60% design quite nicely?
Image
<Record needle scratch> Maybe not the short right HHKB style shift! Damn, I'd need two caps locks! (Never thought I'd say that.) But backspace becomes one light and one dark single unit key, which keeps the look even cleaner.

Something to complain about is what about deep dish F & J? Kinda helps a bit on an all blank board. And the fact it's ABS, of course, but those colours!

kit 3 and kit 5 would definitely get you everything you would need to do that layout.
you could also get a rgby kit and accomplish this as well.

edit 1: btw when I get my gh60 I will be using the same layout + split enter and split left shift.

edit 2: deepdishs are the in the last 2 kits in sets of 8.

What's shipping & handling likely to be to Britain? And who can I negotiate with for a single extra 1.75u and just one pair of deep dish blanks!

(Ting's picture predicts the future…)

Here's the link to Massdrop's Ergodox GB:

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/ergodox/

DSA Dolch GB runs until 12th of July! And does Europe still need someone for organizing the orders here?

Posted: 20 Jun 2013, 01:28
by domoaligato
yes it does need someone to ship centrally from europe.
I will pre-sort and label everything prior to shipment to whoever would like to help me.

Okay, so that old Dolch magic has been working on me. Although I like blanks, the combination of colour scheme and a near perfect match for my layout steers me to the ANSI doubleshots. With additions! How about this:

That's one basic kit from the ANSI group buy and one ISO addon kit.

Questions:
  • Does the ISO addon kit really have two identical dark 1.25u blanks? I'd prefer to use them over the main kit's "WIN" keys for my Commands.
  • That's really a 1.25u RETURN key? Awesome! I really need one of those.
  • My top right key is eject. Fortunately, there's no shortage of dark single unit keys to put there in its place. Which one: END or PRINT or something else?
  • The remaining trouble keys are left function – where CAPS would typically go, I'm using a CONTROL cap above, but it's suboptimal – and backspace – where \ would go above return, again I'm using a CONTROL cap so there's a pattern at least!
  • The ANSI groupbuy ends tomorrow? I'd better get on with ordering this. Anyone spot any mistakes?
Must say it feels strange going for an ISO kit when I'm an ANSI fan living in an ISO region of the world, but it's one hell of a useful kit you've got there if I'm understanding it right!

yes.

yes

BACK!
or blank

Any chance you can do seperate shipments to european folk? Otherwise this means VAT guaranteed for everybody. :x

Now there's a thought. But what blanks? Left Function is 1.75u and HHKB style backspace is 1.5u, the only blanks I'd get between both kits are 1.25u and I'm throwing them both straight into row 1. (Well, I do also get a blank and a legended ISO Enter out of the kit, but the irony is I'm using neither!)

Of course, you're the one with DSA blanks aplenty so perhaps you mean I could use a pair of those? I'd have to see what they look like in the mix, colour-wise.

Last day for DSA Dolch TKL GB.

Indeed. And it's hit its best price target of 250 orders. Good time to be in, so I am.

Dolch used good old timeless Helvetica for its legends, from what I've seen. What font is this we're using? It's pretty decent. And I'm truly glad it's not Arial!
