Faulty MX Red Switch
Posted: 25 Jun 2013, 12:00
To my annoyance I have just discovered a fault with one switches on my poker 2 - its a rarely used key ( [/{ ) key to the right of P hence I havent noticed it before.
The problem is that it requires considerably more force for the switch to register than the others - all MX reds.
I've removed the keycap and jiggled it about (yes, thats about the extent of my technical skills) and occassionaly if I hit a sweetspot it works fine. But as soon as I push the keycap back in, the problem reverts back.
Now I've sent Qtan a PM about this but I'm not sure what/if he'll help out in anyway. So I've posted here in the workshop to find out from others if this is a simple problem I can resolve - note my earlier statement about lack of technical skills, I own precision screwdrivers and can do basic jobs but soldering is beyond me - partly because I don't own one.
Hope someone can help, otherwise I'll have to live with this faulty switch
