I'm looking for keyboard boxes, any advices?
We have rajapack here in italy but does not have any box with interesting size.
rajapack.de and .nl have the good sizes but does not ship around europe.
Know any alternatives?

I had been looking too for a longer while. Sadly there are no alternatives to the rajapack ones. Why do they not ship to you, though? I once contacted them before they had the Keyboard ones on their German site and they were more than willing to ship them to me from the Netherlands.

I've been heating the house last winter with all the paper spam rajapack has sent me.

Nice boxes though.

Anyway for anyone interested you can order those boxes from every rajapack site except Spain, Italy and UK. Code is BOR50.

anyone willing to organize a MO?

No minimum order limit here, but if you order for less than € 250 you pay € 15 shipping. Above that no shipping costs. The problem with sending these around unfolded is that they are bulky.

I managed to buy them from rajapack italy (they ordered from france rajapack for me).
The bad thing is that the courier damaged them, there were actually holes on both side of the package so about 10 boxes became useless! (I ordered 40)

MO I dont know... It's not so easy to repackage them well unless you have the tools to do that.

Heh, I had the same thing..about 10 damaged.

I never skimp on archival boxes.Spending an extra 25 cents per box and you are left with storage that will seriously last.
I go through a local box recycler. They're a bit more pricey, but I gotta support the local economy when possible.

they haven't them in UK and others will not ship to there.
Only .fr can but they have a high minimum order price.
What you can try to do is ask UK to order from FR for you. I was able to do that with .it

This is confusing! :?
Why don't we organise a group buy from the least expensive site and then distribute the boxes ourselves?

Edit: Don't they've got boxes for G80-2100 & friends?

My G80-2100 fits inside :)
Group buy is difficult unless someone is able to repackage them, they are big and they can be damaged easily.
I could not find any other source (online) here in italy.

Its' so simple: First we've got to find a box manufactuer which makes boxes into which the keyboard boxes fit.

I know it would fit tight, but it won't fit including the original box. Also, the IBM 122 key terminal keyboards won't fit, same for so many other keyboards of that calibre...

Yes the G80-2100 fits tight.
Rajapack makes also custom sizes but they require a big minimum quantity.

I think your best bet is a local or near box supplier/maker. I remember when I searched for boxes, there were various near me, also for small quantities.

The seller of these:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0491788920
unfortunately excludes shipping to inter alia Italy.

The original G80-2100 box fits nearly exactly into them, leaving just enough room for a kind of inside lining made out of hard material, which would be necessary at least in the corners because the cardboard used for the box is quite thin.

I wanted to order custom made boxes locally. Size is exactly the same as the boxes that Unicomp uses to ship keyboards.

Unfortunately I'd have to order 50+ boxes to get a price of about 3euro per box...

Cardboard boxes are like keycaps. In small series they are expensive, in large series very cheap.
