switch caps lock and left control key on Poker II

Hello,

Happy new year to everyone :)

Not having a dip switch to switch caps lock and control on Poker II was bothering me.
I decide to do a hardware one with some wire bypass, so i cut the tracks around caps lock switch and the track before left control switch, and linked all that with some wires.
Connectivity seemed all good, but upon connection of the keyboard, i end up with a locked on control key :/
Could that be the keyboard controller limiting the switch action ?

Any one having done this ?

Cheers,
C

AHK?
or Key tweak software or some software others...
i think on poker II is fully programmable you don't need software/program anything

Yes. Caps lock is a lock. But the switch itself is just a regular (momentary) switch like all the rest. So the controller treats it differently, by maintaining its own state which the key toggles when pressed instead.

What i don't get is why i get a control lock when not even hitting a key :/

@slo: i know it's programmable, but i don't want to have to hit Pn or have have the programmable layer on all the time for this...

Ok my fault i had messed up the left control bypass solder point.
So now that i fixed it, i no longer have a locked on control.... But no left control nor caps lock at all

All connectivity is OK as my left caps lock switch is correctly connected to the rest of the left switch trace.... Any idea?

You know they're wired up in a matrix?

Thanks Muirium pointing the obvious!!
I knew from the start i had to also bypass the diode side but forgot it for some reason....

Working like a charm now. Thanks again for your help!

No one ever expects the obvious. That's why it's so deadly!
