Hey, I've been hacking away on a new computer for the last month or so. It basically started as an idea for an awesome keyboard. Something that's built with a nice Unix type layout like the old Sun Type 5 keyboards. Then I decided it'd be cool if there was a little computer in there. And of course, if I need to make a new chassis to fit it, I'd be fun to play with some Lego again. :)

Here is a photo of how it's coming along.

I'm documenting my process in a GitHub repo (https://github.com/jonhiggs/ml62) incase anyone else wants to build one. There are a ton more photos and the T.M.K keyboard code too.

I thought it'd be nice to share here too because I've been getting some help from a few very nice members.

Cheers.

Hahaha, that's not a bad idea. I had a play to see if I could make it fit but no luck. The cherry switches are looking for a square 14.5mm hole with a thickness of about 2mm to latch onto. That's not an easy one to make with lego. It naturally wants to make a hole of a multiple of 8mm. You may be able to do a one off with some weird angle pieces and stuff, but to make it over and over again for each of the switches will be hard.
