I just picked this vintage Cherry MY-Board up, de-gunked it - and let me tell you: the sound, oh the sound:

Typing isn't too bad either. If it has to be an octopus then it's a seductive one! Nice dyesubs and built like a rock.

What about an IBM Scrollpoint Pro (http://www.ibmfiles.com/pages/scrollpoint.htm) ? It's the first mouse that fits in my rather large* hands and built like an armored rodent that's clicky too. [*) Definitely not insinuating any political commentary here.]

My issue with "vintage" or even slightly older computer mice is their low DPI. The past 5-10 years have seen an explosion in the size and DPI of desktop monitors resulting in distances on my screen that input devices 10+ years ago were never expected to cover unless you are looking at the high end ...

Hello everyone, I ultimately got an IBM Scrollpoint Pro (rev. 2), new old stock for ten bucks off of Ebay, as suggested in another thread here in the forum. The Ducky sure is a lovely animal (duck or mouse?) but I just couldn't justify the purchase when there was a nice clicky piece of IBM history ...

Is it actually worth getting one of those? I received a used SpaceSaver II shipped from abroad a year ago, went through the hassle with customs etc. - but given its age and build quality it wasn't actually very usable. After some light use parts came off. The trackpoint wasn't very nice for modern ...

All the options you pointed out surely are nice and get the job done. But after a lot of googling and reading through reddit/forum posts it seems the mouse I imagined really does not exist. Even a $5 mouse is not completely useless, as is a rubber-dome keyboard. They move the cursor, even if they ...

Suggestions for a plain, but heavy-duty mouse ?
So here's the story: I am writing this on a mechanical Keyboard from the 1990s that has outlived maybe 5-6 mice since its stay with me so far. Now my mouse seems to be dying again and I just can't stand to get another cheap device that would leave me in two winter's time. Why is it so relatively ...

I have actually tried to use some old cherry caps I had with the Marquardt in the meantime - and that nearly broke the board. So I should have heeded your advice without experimenting...

A Reflotron/Marquardt board that's still weirding me out
Dear Deskthority,
I have been lurking for quite a while now and figured I should finally get around to introducing myself so that I can take advantage of your vast knowledge of keyboard lore in a more active way :) .
My keyboard story is one that is still weirding me out a little. I am a heavy ...
