Re: Help identifying this 70s keyboard & terminal?

Believe it or not, a lot of the computer stuff (anything "high tech", basically) in a lot of those old shows were... cardboard. There were companies that supplied them to dress sets. Most of them are in the real estate industry now, providing cardboard models of home furnishings to dress empty ...

I don't know, but it's funny that they also used it with a IBM 3270, with like a fucking monitor inside the monitor? :?

Yes, exactly. Good eye, thank you, webwit. That's why I added this at the bottom of my original post:

Help identifying this 70s keyboard & terminal?

These are screenshots from two episodes of Knight Rider, the earliest of which has a filming date of August 1982, so we know that this can't be any newer than that. Chances are, they are from the 70s though.

Thought about going for them, but it looks like they're going to a good home :) .

However, I'd be VERY surprised if the keyboards in those pictures are Key Tronic. They look more like Cortron/ITW switches to me.

029 Keyboards on eBay...and possibly an apology...

Well, last week I saw these keyboards on eBay, as part of the full dumb terminal (CRT), also being sold on eBay in separate auctions by the same seller.

Re: Key Tronic Corp. Early '70s Keyboard

The DECscope terminal is a DEC VT50 or VT52. The picture above has the VT05 (left), VT50 DECscope (middle) and VT100 (right). These are iconic terminals and many were made to look similarly. The VT05 coming out in 1970 would have had other manufacturers make their terminals look similarly.

That's really cool, the terminal has quite the resemblance to the VT05, and the later appellation "DECScope" lead me to wonder, do they have any relation besides the resemblance?
