I just bought a Pro 2 Type S, I'm not one to worry about it if a new one comes out right after I take delivery. Even if the new one is better in some way, the current model is still excellent.

I am definitely NOT taking the protective film off my Model F's badge. It's been there at least 35 years, if I have my way it'll be there for 35 more...

Yeah that is definitely a domed badge. Here are a couple of pics of my badge, which is on a Model F, but which is pretty much the way the standard flat badges look:

I would recommend buying the silenced version when you do decide to buy. In most of the cases I've seen it's not much more, $10 in the case of the FC660C, and the sound is really luscious.

The lubing and reassembly definitely looks like a task that goes much better when you always have a pint of malt beverage handy...

My preference would be the Unsaver! I just got it working tonight. Took way too long for me to get this working but now that I have it together I love it. Now all I need to do is get a solenoid driver board so I can use the peizo buzzer that came with the keyboard.

I also plan to make a USB hub ...

I have never had the opportunity to try an F122, so I can't comment on how well I like that model.

But I do own both a Model F XT and a Model F AT. I have to say that I love them both, but I prefer the XT by a slight margin.

I like the layout on the AT a little better, and the feel and sound ...

And Kishsavers are absolute unobtanium, unless you're talking about the new reissues that everyone is anxiously waiting for. But I'm not sure that comparing the new reissues with the vintage models ...
