What does restoration mean in the case of such a rare board? Should it be left as original as possible as opposed to changes one might otherwise make for it to be a better daily driver?

Not sure of the year of manufacture, but I'm afraid my AT was still of the painted variety. (I had lightly sanded the original paint, before painting mine black.)

And kind of scary when opening the plastic case...figuring it has the earlier more brittle plastic. (Though I don't know.)

BTW...Does anybody know if the silver badge on the 2nd PC Jr. keyboard is the same size as the one on the XT and AT?

I generally get on well with the AT layout. Only thing was the control key placement tripping me up when I tried to use other boards.

@sh1: Like you, I prefer dark keyboard cases. I've painted some of my beige cases black or burgundy red. I also tend to replace spacebars and modifiers with black ones. For alphas, I use white or, if I can find them, blue.

Someone expressed an issue with floss modding an F. Is it because it really does affect the feel a bit? Was curious about trying it, but actually I've been using this F for a while and often quite enjoy the sound.

Last year, I switched from a bolt modded M to an F AT as my daily driver. I was suffering some wrist pain at the time, which the M was triggering, but not the F. And I had attributed this to less activation force.
