Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYSWITCH thread
Another that's on the tip of tongue but I just can't pin down what it is:

Looks a little like Mistumi's, but a lot bigger and a little more alps-y. Some interesting nubs on the top of the stem too.
It's a (bad) rubber dome with slider and Alps mount
It ...

Re: Hesitating whether to spend $1000 on a 6580 Beamspring
I would say aside from the price the next most important thing is the layout. If you cannot get used to the layout, then it becomes a show piece. There are a few things that some people may find hard to get used to such as no numpad, function keys that only go up to 10, and only one modifier key ...

Re: Hesitating whether to spend $1000 on a 6580 Beamspring
I looked over the sold prices on ebay. The least expensive beam spring sold for $900 and the most expensive sold for $1600 . Both were 7361073s. I don't particularly care about the ones that are currently on sale, as those prices might not get met. Hey, I can throw an HP rubber dome on ebay and ...

Re: Hesitating whether to spend $1000 on a 6580 Beamspring
I recently spent 1000 on a pretty good condition 5251 and I'd say go for it. Beamsprings are getting more desirable and more expensive as a result. If you're on the fence, try to get a feel of them at a keyboard meet, but as long as that thing isn't rusted to crap you should have little issue ...

Re: Hesitating whether to spend $1000 on a 6580 Beamspring
I’ve had my 3278 for a good few years now. It didn’t cost anything like that much when I bought it.

They’re nice, and immensely characterful, but four figures? Nope. Can’t say my beamspring is even my favourite keyboard. It’s high on my list ...

Hesitating whether to spend $1000 on a 6580 Beamspring
For the past few years I've dreamed of owning a beam spring keyboard. Now I can afford it, but seeing how much they have gone up in price, I can't help but feel hesitant ...
Therefore, I came here to ask for opinion from you folks, is it worth paying $1000 for?

Mine is a Futuba MA inverse mount, caps are doubleshots.
The below picture is from the listing when I bought it.
Hope that helps!

Trying to identify this keyboard as a challenge
I know the image looks like sh*t and may hurt everyone's eyes, my apologies.
So far I have noticed some features:
Narrow F keys;
Sharp MZ-700 like arrow keys;
4 2U-keys one the numpad.
I am trying to identify this keyboard as a challenge, anyone have a clue?

Problems using a TMK converted JIS layout keyboard with English/Chinese input method
Recently I got my hands on an IBM 5576 Japanese keyboard. While using a cheap PS2-USB converter, everything works fine.
By "fine", I mean that the characters and punctuation marks are exactly same with the key caps. For example, I can input the " mark with shift+2 with no problem.
However, when I ...

Re: What is this keyboard?
It is an IBM M122, but a later model. Last example I saw of one of these was that it was produced Unicomp for IBM, so most likely it was made towards the very late 90's and very early 2000s.
This is the last example I saw of one of these models with the exact same branding (but rather yellow ...

It has a 122 layout and a IBM logo, but I don't think it looks like any model M varints.
Could anyone tell me what it is ?
