I'm having the same problem as the TS, the LED in the 9 key is not working anymore. I removed the key and tried to move the LED and it lit up again. I'm assuming this is just a connection issue that can be easily repaired. The problem is, how do I open up this keyboard? :D

There was an IBM 3270 Kanji System, but it got around the character problem by having 15 different shift keys (!)

Reminds me of the ZX Spectrum. I hope the keyboard is better. Although those ZX Spectrum keys made perfect erasers. Erases everything, pencil, ink, blood, you name it.
