Interesting, never heard of that. I do use strip led's for the effect which is the same thing they use for TV backlights and all kinds of other things so I can see how it could remind you of that.

The final product will be either bead blasted aluminum (and anodized) or powder coated aluminum. We are still looking at the options available for each one.

I have attempted to use KBL2SCAD and it seems to work except when I open OpenSCAD it says :
