These came in today :
Soft and Firm....
Initial findings( on cherry black ) :
The soft one dampens the noise more. Can't really feel a difference in keyfeel.
The firm one dampens the noise a little less than the soft one but changes the key feel more.
This is an excellent time to redo all my keyswitch sound recordings with and without those dampeners. Gonna use them on my soon to be released new and improved http://www.mrinterface.com site.
Gonna work on Alps dampeners in the future as well....

Are you sure? I tried both (as well as o-rings) and the soft/black pads definitely change the key feel more (mushy landing). Not only they are softer, but they are slightly thicker too.Mrinterface wrote: Initial findings( on cherry black ) :

The firm/gray ones are clearly better in my opinion.

@sordna : Well, those were my first impressions. Did you use the cherry black? It might differ from keyswitch to keyswitch. I still need to type on a fully 'pad-modded' keyboard for a longer time to be sure about my findings.
I'm also going to try the o-rings to see how those differ.

I tried all of these on cherry blues (my ex-Poker), browns (Kinesis Classic), and reds (Kinsesis Advantage LF). I'm a big fan of 40A durometer o-rings, they are firmer than the firm landing pads but still soften the landing and nearly silent (not as silent as the pads though).
