Thomson TO9 keyboard (Cherry G80-0489)

As I said in a previous post, I've recently acquired a Tomson TO9 keyboard that ended up being made by Cherry! Was very happy to have gotten a new piece to add to our Cherry database project.

An interesting feature of this board is the mounting of the pcb, unlike other Cherry boards the pcb clips in the bottom case, which is very annoying when you don't know about it. The bottom shot of the case shows all the spots where the pcb clips are.

Overall it's a pretty cute keyboard, the keycaps are lovely and it's very refreshing to see other fonts being used on Cherry keycaps. It's unfortunate the green "upper" legends are pad printed, but they are still very sharp and very colourful. The keycaps with a single green legend are doubleshot.

I need to mention how you can spot this version of the Thomson TO9 keyboad that is Cherry over the other version : the straightness of the ENT key and the Caps Lock LED window are what gives it away :
