You saw the recent Hi-Tek keyboard topic, right? Strange mixture of Hi-Tek (dovetail modular) plus Stackpole-style (non-modular) parts. As I noted on the wiki, I realised that your Toptronics keyboard is exactly what's depicted in the Hi-Tek dovetail patent: the core module. The HP 9816 keyboard is that same core module + add-on modules. On the other hand, keyboards with Stackpole on the PCB are of the dedicated module variety, i.e. any time you need more keys than the core module, they're added to a whole new moulding, instead of being fitted as add-on modules.
A lot more to learn still about this — a lot of unanswered questions.

My Dell AT102W with superb¹ Oriental Tech OK-100M doubleshots fitted. Since I need to remove all the keycaps again to upgrade the switches, I swapped in Dell's stabiliser posts, which are compatible:
I love that huge * key!
Stabilised keys. Probably destined for the wiki when I get around to it; the first photo certainly is. (Funny how people are overanxious to post photos so long as they don't have to sign their soul over to the wiki devil.)
¹ Except left shift, which has badly distorted writing

I saw mention of it somewhere (probably my wiki change RSS feed). Yeah, I haven't been that interested in the Hi-Tek/Stackpole stuff (like the Futaba switches). I just misjudge my buying decisions and they pop up in my mailboxDaniel Beardsmore wrote:You saw the recent Hi-Tek keyboard topic, right? Hm, my only Hi-Tek ally gone. Switches and keyboards are feeling more like a lost cause as time passes …

We have to actually know something about what we're posting. And in such a way as to fit the Wiki's taxonomy. Posting a picture, meanwhile, rushes straight to the bit we like to do!Daniel Beardsmore wrote:(Funny how people are overanxious to post photos so long as they don't have to sign their soul over to the wiki devil.)

Any hints about what we'll need to make those ourselves? Tinnie's Kishsaver find makes this an active question!HaaTa wrote:And another pic of the kishsaver controller in action

I defer questions about hardware to Parak. I just write the code and make it workyMuirium wrote:Any hints about what we'll need to make those ourselves? Tinnie's Kishsaver find makes this an active question!HaaTa wrote:And another pic of the kishsaver controller in action
