Thermark laser etching

I found this article at Hackaday where some dude used Thermark and a laser to make keycap legends. There is more information about the process on the manufacturer's web site here. It's expensive stuff, $63 for an aerosol can.

Has anyone here tried something like this? Potential group buy project?
