Good morning chaps,

My first post, I have a relative newbie to the world of mechanical KB.

I currently use a UK ISO FILCO TK Cherry MX Brown with modified keycaps from WASD. I am searching for high quality keycaps for my main board but am finding that many group-buys on other forums don't really cater for me as I have a UK KB and I am a Mac user.

Via GeekHack I have just ordered the KBC Poker 2 and look forward to receiving it shortly.

Happy to be a part of this community and learn more about this fascinating subject.

Best wishes,
ShivaYash

Welcome :) If only more people introduced themselves like this...
The sky's the limit for cherry keycaps so have patience and I'm sure you'll find some decent caps eventually.

Hi ShivaYash,

I'm another Mac based relative Deskthority newb from further north on the island (Edinburgh) and I very almost bought a Poker 2, too. But something about those caps put me off, as we debated in the thread.

002 is quite right about the range of choice in Cherry MX caps in general. They're everywhere! So much so, I'm looking to build a custom keyboard with a set of MX switches just for convenience.

Deskthority's a brilliant resource. Sometime this summer I'm getting 002's Topre Realforce — a very high end keyboard from Japan with a whole different kind of switches — for a week as part of a European tour. I already have MrInterface's switch sampler, which is my first taste of a couple of dozen different switches like Topre and Alps. And the custom project is something I'm working on with Matteo in Italy. Couldn't be up to any of this without Deskthority!

The internet's pretty sweet isn't it!
