Just saved a model M from the garbage but the cable is dirty as hell. How do you guys clean coiled cables?

I clean non-coiled cables with alcohol on a rag.

Alcohol or ammonia based detergent like Glassex (the thing that in America you call Windex)

Its actually also possible to clean cables with denture cleaning tabs. Tie it together a bit with a cable binder or wire, then have it soak in a small container with a few denture cleaning tabs. They are the solution to almost all keyboard related cleaning problems
