Yes, the young lady in the bottom pic is probably from the late 1970s or early 80s. Those were fun times
I remember sorting punched cards for the school office with an ice pick in 1973....

@Matteo: Can you link us to your source for this picture? Supposedly there's a
wiki for all these headers, but I have failed so far to punish everyone with writing theirs up!

I should have said I thought she was English! That mussy hair and microskirt combo…
The guy on the left there: that's so me. Only I had that hairdo in the 1990s. He knows the photographer is a keen eyed pervert, but does he know we're oggling her keyboard too?

I've actually seen one of those Tektronix consoles in person. Bloody huge, and you can guess the keyfeel: random ass linear.
If I let all these in, we're so going to be Old Fart Thority, you know it!

Agreed! There is so much material there, I'll need a week to pick out the best ones. These are just the first round and were not going for Old Fart Thority in any way!

I like the scenes we have now with people operating old keyboards, like the 1978 girl above or the handsome guy with the glasses from that ad, but for pictures of just the keyboards and nothing else I definitely prefer modern nice coloured pictures. DT isn't about computing stories from the past but good keyboards after all, right?

Most of the pictures there are not header material anyhow Halvar. But I do agree with both of you. We should have a good mix of headers. Aside from that I find it slightly unrewarding putting up some strange pictures vs. our own pictures of our own keyboards which should be the first choice in my opinion. Anyway they have some funny shots from the 80's too like this guy at his terminal.

Nice beam spring in the background though.

no no nobody is switching to Old Fart Thority here! I guess we need some Zettai Ryōiki hot chicks posing with some clacks then.

I'll get right to work on a collage of these then...

It's okay now (I like the contrasting colours) but I'd prefer a shot from a bit farther back. I want to see him sneaking!

The first one is too blurry. I don't like carpet background. It reminds me too much of crawling around looking for missing keyboard springs. (and the later feeling of dread when I hear rattle noises while vacuuming the carpet)

I killed the carpet!
Right, back comes the not so magic carpet.

I generally agree with A500, just from the identification with feet, which tickles my OCD. But the second one is quite nice, with the blur in the right place…
(Expects Ripster style shoe pictures to start showing up next. Preemptively VERBOTEN!)
Edit: put that carpet back, Seebart. Or rather let's see them both. Photoshopping is not the way to appeal to me!

Reposting a couple of shots for re-evaluation (or chance to be ignored again)....

(
not yellowed, this is "creamy coffee" colour)
I also found this one by nathanscribe, that I think looks quite nice:
