I just found this awesome website which was opened in 2004. The webmaster worked in the computer industry at mid70s.
We can find more info about old pc or ask some question to him,if you need.
If he can share what switches inside the rare keyboard, it could be great.

I collect as lot of old computers too.
I am new here and not necessarily a keyboard aficionado but I do have a number of vintage keyboards because I collect vintage computers and... I need them. Would it be appropriate to post some vintage keyboards on this site for viewing purposes and maybe the odd question?
A couple of recent keyboards:
Micro Switch keyboard: http://vintagecomputer.ca/vintage-micro ... -keyboard/
SMK keyboard: http://vintagecomputer.ca/vintage-smk-k ... -assembly/
Vintage Alps Keyboard: http://vintagecomputer.ca/vintage-alps-keyboard/
I love the Wiki and use it often and would be happy to contribute with pictures. I don't know a lot about keyboards, key caps or key switches but I do find keyboards very cool.

Microswitches are more widely known than Micro Switch. They're used in mice and joysticks and various things, so they are a popular item for electronics hobbyists. I heard of them years before I got into keyboards and laid my hands on a Honeywell!
Right enough, there are microswitches aplenty in the linked keyboard project:

I'm glad to see you got the ALPS AKB-3420. I was watching that, but I only wanted it if it was super cheap because I already have enough SKCC ALPS. It didn't go for as much as I thought it would and shipping to Canada was amazingly cheap.snuci wrote: I collect as lot of old computers too.

Yes, take a look on DT wiki if the detail is true.
And thanks told the model Alps AKB-3420 keyboard as I'm wondering what's the model of no.KCCAB902!
Since I took a look on snuci's SMK keyboard again, our keyboard seems like the same layout but his hr the vintage SMK switch!

Thank you for posting this! Very interesting. My brother has carpel tunnel and these super-low force actuation switches are an interesting idea for people like him.terrycherry wrote: What's that guy going on about making another micro switch...

This is a little old and collecting trends have changed as events occurred (for example Steve Jobs dying made vintage Apple computers go up for a period of time) so it's not accurate and it is 6 years old. In any case, I would still like to find this book. I searched for it a couple of years ago. Maybe I should look again. Unfortunately, this is only a preview and many pages are missing but I'd love to find it.terrycherry wrote: This book made a list with price and year for the vintage computer. EDIT: Thanks for reminding me about this again. I found it for around $20 shipped. Last time there was a couple copies on Amazon for about $130.
