Surprised no one is talking about this yet. A few big german PC magazines as well as kitguru picked up the story this afternoon:
http://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/keyb ... ure-white/
I think it's a good idea, and one I have toyed with many times in the past (before I drifted off into the tactile MX world that I still seem stuck in)...
Blacks are too tiring and Reds are too light, and I make too many mistakes. A middle ground is a good idea.
The name is ridiculous, obviously, and a result of the fact that clear and white were taken, and translucent apparently doesn't cut it, marketing-wise.
It might probably take a while due to stupid Corsair contracts, but I'd like to get my hands on one of these switches.
Not to use it, but to find out which spring weight can replicate the feeling with modded red or black switches.
My money is on 62-65g.

Anyone know how to craft a search expression for the words "surprise" and "yet" in the first post of news threads? I'm never surprised by people's surprise. That's their business! But I do want to link to it…

You want to link to what? To people's surprise? Is this so common? Is it annoying you?

I had a board with linear steams and clear springs which is sort of similar; they start out around the same weight but get heavier the closer to activation/bottom out you get. Felt pretty good from what I remember (although I admit, I only used it for a week or so, I think I dismantled it because I wanted to give browns another go for some reason).

Well... For some reason:
I'm in the same boat right now. I have come full circle. Years ago I sold my Celeritas because I didn't like browns...

I've noticed how popular LightBright keyboards are on MassDrop, but maybe "people" aren't talking so much about this new switch because they are like me and they (a) don't want their keycaps illuminated, and (b) like 45g actuation force. Just a thought.
