So....how do you feel about the hex head screws IBM uses?
Nice review. It does look like a $5 cheapy that came with so many computers in the early 2000's. I wonder what the market was for this keyboard? Why build this instead of going with the cheap and functional rubber dome and membrane?

Bizarre lube job… did they really ship like that or did it take years to spread?
Webwit has one quite like it:

Have you tried Brother buckling spring, Chyros? Some of those look very good, but I haven't met one to get a feel. Also, seeing as you mentioned buckling spring's weight: have you measured a Model F? I find it a good bit lighter than M, as do most people, but I haven't measured it. Where did I put my stack of scientifically calibrated 5 pence coins again…
As Andy guessed, I like the 1.75u Shift and Fn combo. Bit pointless, though, on a fullsize board. Split right Shifts generally aren't stabbed — no keys under 2.0 units usually are — and my HHKB here doesn't suffer for it.
The board currently on its way to you (from the Surprise Box!) will be an entertaining comparison with this Can Tech, in one respect. We'll see.

Nope, not yet.
Several sources cite it as 60-65 g, the Can Techs I measured to be 55-60 (I tried it on several smooth keys). The Can Techs feel lighter if you press a smooth key perfectly. If not, the immense difference in smoothness easily tips the balance.
Of course, this thing has absolutely nothing on an F.
Ha, wonder what that could be xD .The board currently on its way to you (from the Surprise Box!) will be an entertaining comparison with this Can Tech, in one respect. We'll see.

I have two, completely identical but feeling really different, one sucks, one is not bad at all. I think it was different springs or different hammers, something like that.

I'm not too surprised; the keys on mine don't feel very uniform either. I think they were just put together sloppily, and that's when product consistency starts to suffer.
Really the big problem with this keyboard is the slider catching on the slider well, other than that it's not bad really.
