I know it is
http://deskthority.net but since some weeks ago it worked with
http://deskthority.org as well.
.org seems more logical to me, so I type deskthority.org ...

It's not a bug... I'm experimenting on .org with a static image server.

Fixed. (It's running vBulletin, so
anyone can use it for experiments.)

Yea, right!
One website for
experiments should be enough!

deskthority.org is up again. There's also deskthority.com (all the special stuff is sold here) and deskthority.de (Cherry fanboys here...)

That would mean we'd be ripping off
http://keyboardporn.com/ (mildly NSFW front page).

If SOPA/PIPA becomes reality we'll have to relocate the server and get new domain names (SOPA targets .net, .com and .org as US national sites).

Isn't SOPA/PIPA about intellectual property and piracy? How would that bother sites like deskthority ?

Pictures of copyrighted keyboards, bootleg switches and springs, keyboard mods ..
And negative reviews! With pipa the threshold for making false claims about whatever will be lower, because claiming a site has pictures of molested children is a big step.

It is a great danger to all sites with user contributed content. In the old situation, if someone posts copyrighted material and the copyright owner wants it removed, the owner contacts the site, and the site admin removes it, or the case proceeds to a judge. In the new situation, what they were aiming for is that the site is simply blocked and taken out, no judge. In effect it means all user contributed content must be pre-moderated, or the site owners put themselves at great risk to lose their sites and all their rights at random. And this is just a small part of it.

I'm back. I'm surprised my boycotting Deskthority.net for a day in sympathy with Wikipedia didn't make the news.

All my Wikis with stolen Deskthority.net pics is next.

The indictment says that at one point, Megaupload was the 13th most popular Web site in the world.
Hey, just like my Wikis!
