Nice review. I didn't know this keyboard even existed. Probably only common, if at all, in the UK. The tactile are definitely my least favorite as well, and I agree, space invaders definitely do not like dirt, becoming very scratchy. Personally I feel that they should only every have been made in the original linear variety. The tactile and clicky varieties seem like kludges to satisfy demands of the market.

I actually worked for ICL (as a division of Fujistsu) here in the US in the early 2000's in their Point of Sale division. It was an odd place to work as the office had equal numbers of employees from the US, UK and Japan with a few Finns thrown in to confuse things.

Why are you wearing a cat flea collar? :? This is not how it works. You have to put it on the cat.

The linear ones are indeed fantastic. Mine are nice but i think an ultrasonic is on the cards for them.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGHHHHH!

It's mi-ne-bi-ah (or thereabouts — four syllables) not "mine bee", and Series 725 were made by Hi-Tek FOR THEMSELVES, shortly before Nippon Miniature Bearing—who were set up by Minebea—acquired Hi-Tek, in 1983, before the Series 725 patent was filed.

Wait what? Oo

The linear ones are definitely very nice, excellent switches if they're in good condition. The clicky ones have a really nice noise though, and you can linearise them if you want ^^ .

Liking Daniel's reaction though. It's strangely satisfying Image .

I don't actually know how to transcribe ミネベア (Minebea). Wikipedia's Katakana page gives IPA for each kana, suggesting /minebea/ (pronounced exactly as it's spelt!)

easypronunciation.com's IPA converter gives /mʲinebea/, while if I was to transcribe Google Translate's speech synthesis I'd have to go for /minebeja/, as /minebeʲa/ seems to be illegal (there's a weak /j/ between the /e/ and /a/ but you seem to only be able to palatise consonants).

In English, it's approximately mi-ne-be-yah.

Chyros, just saw your comparison of a G810 with your old ICL Space Invader.

Which one did you like the most when typing?

Just curious because I have the G810 and it still sits connected to one of my Internet PCs, the RGBness is just addictive, especially late at night.

I am guessing , much better feel but too stiff.

It's a G610 IIRC, not a G810. Monochrome white lighting. Pretty sure they released my review of it by now if you're curious xD .

I'd say the space invaders feel a little better, and sound a lot better, but they're still not a great switch IMO. The clicky and linear space invaders are a lot better.
