can you make box switches with opaque housings for once, i know i saw pcb mount ones are apparantly coming but i am tired of everything having transparant housings and ruining the sound

Transparent switches sound different? I suppose they would, if it’s a different material.

I’ve never had a board of them to know. Not drawn to REAL SUBTLE RAINBOW BACKLIGHTING or Matias switches, either. Nixdorf is my only transparent desire.

Oddly, milky tops like nixdorf and gateron milky sound better than fully clear switches, i know jack shit about why it may happen but completely clear ones have a higher pitch

My guess would be material. Are transparent switches topped with acrylic shells perhaps? While ABS can be translucent?

As we know from caps, plastics can be very different in sound, even when they’re the same thickness.
