Are Alps keycaps harder to take off than Cherry keycaps?

My preference is to use a Soarer's Converter. But that only works with PS/2 boards.
I don't know where you heard that. My old project looks embarrassingly crude, but it works fine.

I, quite literally, finished building something exactly like that about 10 minutes ago, only it uses TMK. Yours looks better :D.

Someone said that Clickiez aren't tactile. They're specifically advertised as being switchable from clicky to tactile to linear, depending on what you want to do with the click leaf.

My current impression on the Clickiez are that they feel a lot like Omron B3G-S switches, but I've only used them for about a week, so I may revise my opinion.

Ok, you're right. I have seen Soarer's Converters that can do RJ-45, PC/AT and a few other connectors.

Is there a Soarer's Converter that can do ADB? If there is, that would be very cool.

Not sure but I bought one of these and like it. It can remap keys - not sure about macros.

I ordered a Tinkeyboy, because you can flash QMK onto it. But it ships out of the Philippines, so it's going to take quite a while to get here.

That embarrassing guide from years ago proved my concept.

Subsequently I built a nicer one, still using parts from the electrical department at Home Depot.

I wish I had the electronics know-how to build these kind of things.

The instructions are pretty straight-forward.. My biggest problem is that, while I get immortality boost points because I'm the Highlander, my vision is poor, so the little solder points challenge me a bit.

When the orihalcon, et al, converters were under $20, I should have picked up more. I'm very fond of the Drakware products, but those are now $30 a piece.

The Soarer's Converter frimware is closed source and Soarer hasn't been seen in years. Does the current firmware blob support ADB? Or am I overthinking this and it will just work if I get the wiring right?

I ordered a Wombat, which was more than I wanted to pay. It was $49.00. It's out for delivery now, and I'm about to leave for a wedding, so I won't get to play with it till later tonight.

I probably should have gotten a Drakware, since it's $20.00 cheaper.

With all the inflation the US has been having, prices of a lot of stuff has gone up. I bought a Soarer's Converter years ago. Don't remember what I paid for it.

The Wombat board came in and it doesn't work.

It looks like there is some bad solder under the ADB port:

I emailed BMOW asking for permissiont to try to resolder the board before we do a warranty exchange.

Ok, now I feel like an idiot. The PC is supposed to be connected to the Mini USB port on this controller, and not the USB-A port. Typing away on my Apple Extended Keyboard now.

Now I need to go buy a mini-USB cable, so I can give this cable back to my son.
