Poor, poor Americans. Will you ever get a decent education? I hear that creationism is on the rise again, that's a fail for society right there.

lol, where did you hear that? America is currently reeling in the wake of loss of religious identity, and has become a nation of consumerist zombies, afraid of science and knowledge. Cable television is the almighty in their eyes. I live there btw, its pretty crazy to witness firsthand.longweight wrote:Poor, poor Americans. Will you ever get a decent education? I bet it is a crazy time to be living in. I've read it in a few places, I have no figures though so I can't back my statement up.WRXChris wrote:lol, where did you hear that? I'm glad that America is loosing it's religious identity, it does seem to have galvinised quite a few sects into extremism which is hardly suprising.

There's a real risk you (or rather the voting-machines) will elect a MORMON as POTUS for crying out loud .. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creation_ ... ted_States
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin#Education
That insane bitch was nearly elected VeePee, with the old Dinosaur as POTUS !
Yeah right , God placed dinosaur-fossils here .. To test our Faith !
http://religions.pewforum.org/reports/
Of the 16% of Americans who responded 'unaffiliated' 1.6% said they are Atheists,
2.4% Agnostic and 12.1% 'nothing in particular' .
Other than that, we see loads of Americans praying in public on TeeVee .
Americans think God is on the side of THEIR local football-team, or your military for that matter,
(Admittedly, so do many Jews, Hindus and/or Muslims..)
you even see group-prayer at some work-places .
Considering what Jesus said about public prayer it's just laughable ..

Nah, too well maintained. Need more junk in the frontyard
You would be hard-pressed to find multi-story house outside of the bigger cities however.
Or brick houses and concrete houses, well... actually you mostly seem to use wood.

Whoa, you telling me they traded in the plastered wooden houses for plastic ones? That's a definite improvement and it kinda makes sense somehow....7bit wrote:This is how Europeans think all Americans live.Spoiler:

Having lived in the states for quite a while I met my fair share of people who told me I am going to hell for not believing what they believe. That "know" creationism is true and have "scientific" arguments to back it up. I think large parts of america, especially more rural states still are VERY religious.
And don't get me started on the whole america is the greatest argument..... especially how it is the ONLY FREE COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. I heard that so many times and that statement is simply one think: uneducated.
Also I got asked if we have WATER in Germany. No, we make some of the most awesome cars in the world we ain't got no water. No Sir. Also I know an american who took a water purification kit to France because he was afraid he couldn't drink the water. So ripsters picture is not that far fetched.
Don't get me wrong America is awesome and I had a great time there, but its far from perfect, just like most countries and I am pretty sure it's not the greatest.
Btw, I am not gonna tell you that my country is the best or better then any other. I haven't been to them all so I wouldn't know.
