Hi Board,

I might be able to aquire a datahand personal edition. However it looks ancient, the plastic has turned yellow and it has a ps2 connector. Apparantly it has been used as a display / demonstration model. As far as I know de personal has the same hardware as the pro, but has no programming / macro features.

I have been tryng to obtain a datahand for some time now (they are realy hard to come by), but I am not to sure if a personal is worth it. But there is project I read about beefing up an old personal on gh so it could be an option.

Any advice would be most welcome.

That's difficult to answer, it all depends on price, condition and how much you want it. Personally I'd wait for a Pro II of less ancient state.

Does anyone know what the original selling price was for a Personal Unit: My googeling results:

And I found one page:
http://flamepointcat.com/ergo/datahand.htm

Same price as a current proII

Another google:
As the calendar turned over to 2009, datahand.com announces that the Pro II model is available again. The price has gone up from $650 to $995, though that’s still less than the $1295 it cost in 2004, before the 50% price cut. The Personal model, which is the model I purchased, is no longer available. That one cost $495 in 2007, and $995 in 2004.

495$ seems like a more sane price

It seems that the store owner wants to part with it for 500eur. Its tempting :?

It's overpriced for a yellowed demonstration Personal model.
