Adding Switches to a KidTrac/LTrac TrackBall?

Hopefully I should have a KidTrac Trackball soon(ish) and I was just wondering how you make the extra switches for them like Ripster 8-) has here:

I realise these go to the jacks on the back of the device but how are they wired? :?:
